Appleton Estate 21 Year Old Nassau Valley Casks
			Review

This aged rum is made using molasses-based pot and column distillates and aged for a minimum of 21 years in Jamaica’s lush Nassau Valley. To call it an all-rounder feels like something of an understatement, but it is worth stressing that it delivers on every front. At 43 percent ABV, it contains enough punch but won't intimidate drinkers who don't regularly sip neat. The profile is simultaneously sweet and dry, fruity and savory, and doesn't hold back on the finish. Price-wise, it's a commitment but it remains widely available at — and occasionally below — the MSRP of $150, which feels fair for a 21-year-old spirit that aged in the tropical aging conditions of the Caribbean. Pound-for-pound, this is one of the best buys in all aged spirits.
