			Brigaldara Valpolicella 2022
			Review

Brigaldara is a historic producer in northern Italy’s Valpolicella region that has been in production since the 12th century. The vineyards were maintained by monks of the Augustinian order for much of its history, and the winery changed hands a few times until it was bought by the Cesari family in 1928. Today the family oversees 120 hectares, 47 of which are under vine. The remaining land is still planted to olive groves, crops, pastures, and woods. This is a regionally defining wine, showcasing the lighter side of the Valpolicella Classico DOC. It immediately hits you with zesty, tart red fruit flavors. There’s raspberry, citrus, and an interesting note of red licorice, all lifted by a lively acidity. This is the perfect refreshing wine to enjoy chilled.
